Greetings

Greetings and welcome! I’m Aimee Jones, a wife, mother of four and I like to write.

Having stayed at home for the past 19 years with a steady stream of Kathie Lee, HGTV, Food Network, and Real Housewives of Nowhere Near Oklahoma…I am overflowing with words.  My poor husband has been the lonely victim of these late night rants for too long. So now I’m sharing.

I wrote a column for a few small town papers.  It was question and answer column regarding how life works here on the great golden plains of Oklahoma.  Believe it or not we survive and actually thrive rather fashionably. That was a whim and I maintained it for a year, but have since moved on to other outlets like Facebook. I have archived the columns under the Dear Aimee tab.

This is my place to gather my girlfriends far and near to talk, laugh, cry, and share how we all make it through life in our part of the country.  I am also aspiring to be a writer of fiction.  This is a relatively new endeavor, so please be patient as I publically chronicle my progress through a romantic comedy serial titled Sorry Love.

Grab a cup of coffee, send the kids to bed early, and enjoy my random mutterings about life, love, friendship, and Plain living!

Happy Reading!

  1. I’ve been waiting for this for a while! Thank you for starting your blog! I can’t wait to read along and join the conversations. 🙂 Goooo, Aimee!

  2. Thank you guys for your comments! When I was wavering about whether of not to post another one…I read your encouraging words and went for it! You are great friends and great encouragers!

  3. Ah, makes me think of the famous saying “Writing is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress, then it becomes a master, then it becomes a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster and fling him to the public.” – Winston Churchill

  4. This is so great Aimee!! Ive always wanted to be an author & I can live vicariously through you now lol. Yay for you!

  5. Hi Aimee – not sure how I came upon your site…were you part of the Right Brain Business Plan Video Summit these past 2 weeks? If no, then I do not know.
What I do know is I like your writing and your flare for words. As you are an aspiring author, I wondered if you knew about the Re-Write conference happening in September in San Diego? Tyndale is sponsoring a contest worth $15,000 advance. You can learn more about it here: http://www.rewriteconference.com/flash/ – my friend Jim Henderson is one of the speakers – he has a new book out, “The Resignation of Eve…what if Adam’s rib is no longer willing to be the church’s backbone.” http://resignationofeve.com
Thx hoping you found my comment entertaining… Elaine

  6. Aimee, I’m so glad that I checked out your blog. I found you through ACFW. When I read that you were interested in networking with YA spec fic readers & writers I knew I needed to see what “the plain wife” was all about. Boy, did I get a good laugh when I discovered you live in the same neck of the woods I do, our beloved western Oklahoma! Once I get my social media thing going I would love to get connected with you. You can be sure I’ll be following your blog! From one Okie to another, Anita Breitling
